Playing chamber music is a wonderful complement to private lessons and large ensemble experiences. These small groups provide a different way of listening, responding, and playing. Open to all musicians, groups are formed based on ability, experience, and instrumentation. All chamber ensembles meet for weekly coaching sessions and perform in recitals.
Students interested in participating but for whom cost may be an issue are encouraged to let us know at the point of registration. The Carol Leybourn Chamber Music Scholarship Fund is available to assist those who qualify for tuition assistance and may also be available as a prize for new students who demonstrate a high level of interest and motivation.
Eligibility
- Open to youth and adult string and wind players.
- String players should be able to read notes and rhythms at or above the Suzuki Book 2 level.
Ensembles are grouped by age and experience level; students may request others they’d like to be grouped with, but groupings are not guaranteed.
