The individual relationship with a caring, professional instructor combined with a commitment to regular practice enables students to acquire the technical and musical skills necessary for mastery of an instrument.

Private instruction at LCMS falls within two 16-week semesters and a summer session, with specific lesson times and weekly schedules communicated directly by studio teachers. As part of our curriculum, students studying piano, voice, and strings also receive a group class in lieu of a private lesson up to three times per semester. These group classes include informal student performances, duets, chamber music, music theory, musicianship, and other topics relevant to the whole group.

All students taking private lessons are encouraged to perform on recitals and attend concerts. Check our Events page for more information about studio recitals, Honors Recitals, Masterclasses, and more.
