The Lawrence Community Wind Ensemble provides advanced musicians the opportunity to experience masterpieces of wind literature. Involvement in the program is invaluable for students who desire to continue their musical journey into college, allowing them to stand out as passionate musicians and members of an honors ensemble. Through weekly rehearsals, woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians develop accountability, patience, confidence, community, and artistry.

Two ten-week semesters each culminate with a performance on the stage of the Lawrence Memorial Chapel. Symphonic Band, our non-auditioned band for dedicated young musicians, is an appropriate first step for students who wish to play with Wind Ensemble.

“I want to become a more well-rounded player, and I love the Lawrence Community bands because we get to play more challenging music with students from other schools. The teacher-conductors keep me coming back each year, and the experience truly makes you a better musician.”
